MSNBC's Tim
Russert lied to help McCain
win in South Carolina
Just days before
the Jan. 19, South Carolina primary, MSNBC's Tim Russert declared on
the Morning Joe show: "McCain spent five years, in a box. Baking in
the heat. He can't raise his arms above this height. Because of the
pain."
Then, referring to Vietnam Veterans Against John McCain, he asked,.
"someone is going to attack his patriotism and his courage? Please."
McCain's campaign enjoyed Russert's comments so well that they
quickly incorporated him and his remarks into a shake and bake TV
commercial aimed at South Carolina voters.
Russert lied and so did McCain when they featured Russert comments
in the ad.
McCain was a "special" and sometimes pampered prisoner, especially
when he agreed to collaborate with the enemy.
McCain was not kept "five years in a box. Baking in the heat." It's
a unadulterated lie repeated to perpetuate the McCain POW 'hero"
myth.
Check out the photo below, does it look like POW McCain is hanging
in a box?
